HYPERCRATE is a desktop sample library manager for Windows and macOS, created by Luke Bond for music producers. Add the folders and drives that hold your samples, then search them together by name, tags or a description of the sound.

Turn on Sync key and Sync tempo to audition keyed samples and loops against your project. Build a stack in the Layer Deck, try a temporary layer, undo changes, and export separate lanes or one stereo mix. Flip a loop to its pack MIDI or a local transcription, inspect its waveform, or hear it through the included DAW plug-ins.

SUMMON brings a compact search palette over your DAW. Local similarity search, optional GPU similarity indexing, duplicate cleanup and an illustrated manual in nine languages are included in the same app.

Two switches in the transport bar, Sync key and Sync tempo, do the whole job. Both ship off, so your very first listen is the pack exactly as its maker recorded it and nothing has been done to it behind your back.

Turn them on and every keyed sample repitches to your root key and every loop stretches to your BPM. Turn them off again any time you want to hear a pack the way it was made.

Importing, auditioning and processing leave your source audio in place and unchanged. HYPERCRATE reads WAV, AIFF, FLAC, OGG and MP3, plus MIDI files, and stores its analysis in a separate library index. You can deliberately move unwanted samples to the Recycle Bin or Trash after reviewing them, or hide them from the browser without moving any files.

Lock on Export starts closed, so drag-outs follow your key and tempo settings. A separate export switch chooses whether your FX and lane balance are included. Open the padlock and turn processing off when you want the original. A sample that needs no change comes straight from its library location. Processed files stay in Music / HyperCrate Exports / Dropped until you choose to clear them. Slices render as 24-bit WAV files.

The Layer Deck can leave as separate lanes or one stereo WAV mixdown. Mix includes its lane balance, processing and mute or solo choices.

The setup wizard can find sample folders on your drives, let you choose folders yourself, or import a Splice library it finds. Review the results before adding them, and run the wizard again from Settings whenever you need it.

After that, drop one or several folders onto the sidebar, or send a folder in from Explorer or Finder. Rows appear first while analysis fills in key, tempo and waveforms in the background. Tags are applied automatically, followed by similarity indexing. You can keep browsing and choose how much CPU the work gets.

The library follows files you add, move or rename on disk. Moved samples and packs retain their analysis, tags and favourites. Finer bass and guitar tags come from the names already in your packs, so existing libraries pick them up without an audio rescan.

Yes, and it tells you exactly how much. Every reading carries how confident HYPERCRATE is in it: one it is sure of is shown plainly, one it is only suggesting is dimmed and marked with a ~, and anything it reads as a one shot gets no tempo at all rather than a made up one. Nothing is ever presented as fact when it is a guess.

It reads the pack too. Where a producer has put the key and BPM in the file and folder names, HYPERCRATE trusts those over its own listening, because whoever made the sound knew what it was. One switch in Settings turns that off if you would rather it always listened for itself.

And you have the final word: right click any row and set the key, tempo or type yourself. What you set is permanent, and no future analysis overwrites it.

HYPERCRATE runs on its own and drags into any DAW. The three companion plugins are optional, and each does a different job.

Analyzer goes on your master bus and reads the tempo, beat grid and key of your project, so auditions arrive in time and in key. Sync goes on an empty track (a Software Instrument track in Logic Pro) and returns those auditions through your project, delay compensated. Notes goes in front of your own instrument and plays library MIDI through it. Install all three or only the one you need; each finds the app on its own. VST3 on Windows, VST3 or AU on macOS.

None of them changes your sound. Analyzer only listens, adds no latency, and stops listening during an offline render, so bouncing is unaffected. Your project does not have to be playing either: with the transport rolling auditions start on the grid and follow your seeks and loop braces, and with it stopped previews still play.

Yes. LOW adds low-frequency weight and PUNCH sharpens or softens the attack. Inspect, the Dropzone and Layer Deck lanes also offer a low cut, sidechain pump and tremolo. Reverse reverb builds a swell into the start of a sample, and you can drag out that swell on its own. A loop with a suitable beat grid can be sliced, auditioned and reversed cell by cell.

Per-sample LOW and PUNCH settings are remembered. With Export the mix as it sounds here switched on, drag-outs include the FX and lane balance. Turn it off to leave that shaping out of separate-file exports. Key and tempo processing have their own padlock. A Layer Deck Mix export always renders the deck processing and audible lane selection into one stereo file.

If your pack includes matching MIDI, HYPERCRATE pairs it with the loop. Otherwise, flip a loop to MIDI to transcribe it on your machine. Drum and melodic material use the appropriate conversion route. The piano roll shows the result before you drag it into your DAW.

Clean tones and clear rhythms transcribe best. Dense, heavily processed or noisy material is harder to read, so you may want to correct notes in your DAW. One-shots and full tracks do not offer loop transcription.

Audition MIDI through a built-in voice, use a one-shot as its instrument, or send the notes through the Notes plug-in to your own DAW instrument. Construction kits with several matching MIDI parts let you choose the part. A bulk switch adopts existing MIDI across a filtered view without starting a mass conversion.

Your samples, library index and analysis stay on your machine. HYPERCRATE does not upload your audio. Describe and Find Similar use models bundled with the app, and your search descriptions are never uploaded or written to the log.

An internet connection is used for sign-in, licence checks and updates. Crash reporting is off unless you switch it on. After signing in, the app can work offline for up to 30 days before it needs another licence check.
